History

Al Rafeh Transport and General Contracting Establishment is one of the leading companies in the field on Plant Hire and Earth Moving Contractors in UAE.

The Company was established by Mr. Mohamed Ali Mubarak in 1976. From a company with limited resources in the seventies, RTC has grown into a major Transport and Earth Contracting company and extended its operations outside of the UAE and Gulf region.

Government departments, Oil Companies, highly reputed international companies and large local contracting companies are some of Al Rafeh's most satisfied clients.

The company base is in Musaffah which houses its corporate office, workshop, warehouse, facility and equipment yard. In the past 45 years Al Rafeh participated in executing projects within the UAE, Gulf region and overseas.

The company has grown larger with dedicated effort & work from energetic team and has been progressing with the progress of UAE. The fleet of 4 machines in 1976 has increased for more than 300 units as of today.

Most of the machines are the latest models of Dozers, Wheel Loaders, Excavators, Graders, Compactors, Cranes, Dump Trucks, Trailers, Backhoe Loaders, Water Tankers and other allied machinery.

Strategy

Our strategy as a Heavy Equipment and Plant Hire Company is to supply our customers with most the technologically advanced machines to guarantee a fast operation. Higher production equals lower costs to projects.

To increase the reliability and availability of machines working on the sites, we have highly trained operators and mechanics in addition to having multiple mobile workshops and spare parts available on site.

Owning the most sophisticated tools and software programs, we can repair machines quickly and efficiently on sites.

Remarkable Jobs By Al Rafeh

  1. In Mid 80s the project for reclamation works,excavation of excess material,levelling, and slope formation in Lulu Island was executed.
  2. About 4,000,000 cu3 of material was reclaimed, excavated and levelled by Al-Rafeh.
  3. Beach formation & construction was subsequently executed.
  4. Machines like D6 LGP, 966 wheel loader and 225 excavators were used on this job. Long reach excavators like VC20 were used to make slopes.

Construction of 300 islands shaped in the image of the world map. Located in the waters of the Gulf. Work started in 2003 and ended in 2008. Al Rafeh participated in supplying several machines from 2004 until 2008.

The Dubai Waterfront Project is a conglomeration of canal and artificial islands. It occupies the last remaining Gulf coast line of Dubai. The artificial islands shaped in an arc, produce a shelter around the Palm Jebel Ali. Al Rafeh was involved starting from the beginning of the project.

The project was to construct islands by dredging material extracted from the bottom of the Gulf. Sand is sprayed from dredging ships, guided by the Global Positioning System (GPS) onto the required area. The breakwater of the Palm Jumeirah has over seven million tons of rock. Al Rafeh’s participation in this project was to supply machines run by professional operators for the reclamation and levelling of dredged material, in addition to rock placing.

Located about five kilometers off shore from Taweelah in Abu Dhabi, is a reclaimed artificial island. The port forms a part of the 418 square kilometers Khalifa Industrial Zone in Abu Dhabi. Developed between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The port is connected to the main land through a causeway and one kilometer bridge. The port has been dredged up to a depth of 16 meters to accommodate large ships. Al Rafeh participated in the reclamation, transporting, levelling and the compacting of dredged material.

The period of development for the Das Island reclamation and shore protection project was in 2011 and lasted for one year. Das Island, situated 160 km off the coast of Abu Dhabi, is an important hub for the export of oil and gas. With this project the island was extended by 17 hectares. The project involves the construction of a 7 km revetment for the shore’s protection.
